Back up on a new server

July 29, 2004

I'm back up and running on a new server. Now I just have to do some work to update this site. I'll be working on that in between transcribing/ arranging music for the band I play in.

Music

Banda Sonata Show

I play in a Mexican band called Banda Sonata Show. Well, actually only half the band is Mexican. The other half is gringos. There are 4 guys from Mexico, 3 of us from the US and one Asian. We play several styles of music - banda, cumbia, norteno, ranchera, merengue, quebradita, and a few songs of various other styles. I play tenor and alto sax and clarinet. We also have two trumpets and trombone. And bass, drums and two keyboards. (At least at this time). We play mostly in the greater Puget Sound region of western Washington, and do occasional gigs in eastern Washington. We are available for private gigs and public gigs, contact me at the email address below.

Alternative Operating Systems

Alternative Operating Systems has been updated with new links and a new look. What are Alternative Operating Systems? They are not Microsoft Windows. I am talking about FreeBSD, mostly, and of course the other BSD's - OpenBSD and NetBSD. My personal preference is FreeBSD. It's more stable than any MS OS and Linux, and is not too difficult to learn to use. I think it is a bit easier than Linux, for a newby to learn.

So, if you have one of those new huge harddrives with most of it empty, why not give some space to an Alternative Operating System and see what else is available besides a flaky, crashing MS Windows?
